NodeZero Tripwires Redline

Editorial redline of existing product documentation focused on structure, clarity, and usability.

Sample type: Editorial redline
Focus: information architecture, style consistency, usability
Context: Application exercise; not official Horizon3.ai documentation

About This Writing Sample

This is not official Horizon3.ai documentation.

I created this editorial redline as part of a Horizon3.ai job application exercise.
The assignment was to review an existing documentation page (NodeZero Tripwires) and provide clear, actionable edits that improve clarity, structure, and consistency—without rewriting from scratch.

What I Evaluated

I reviewed the Tripwires documentation at both the macro level (overall structure, flow, and navigation) and the micro level (style, consistency, and tone).

Some of the highest-value changes focused on:

  • Structure & Navigation: breaking long lists into more scannable sections, adding anchors, and clarifying flow
  • Consistency: standardizing admonitions, hyperlink style, and UI element formatting
  • Voice & Style: shifting toward active voice, resolving sentence fragments, and tightening terminology
  • Audience Fit: reducing jargon, surfacing prerequisites, and making actions more obvious

What This Sample Demonstrates

This piece is meant to show how I approach documentation that already exists but is not yet working as well as it could.

It demonstrates my ability to:

  • critically evaluate existing documentation
  • apply consistent editorial standards
  • improve usability without flattening technical accuracy
  • identify structural changes that matter more than sentence-level cleanup alone
